At the Water

At Lanikai, the water is used as much as it is viewed. The beach faces east toward the Mokulua Islands, with a reef offshore between the islands and the sand. The reef takes much of the energy out of the open Pacific before it reaches shore, leaving calmer, shallower water inside. At 958 Mōkūlua Drive, the beach begins at the end of the lawn.

Between the Reef and the Sand

Inside the reef, the water is calm and shallow enough to swim and paddle. Swimmers go in from the sand, boards and kayaks cross the water close to shore, and outriggers launch from the beach nearby, where a canoe hālau keeps its boats.

  • Approximately 75 feet of sandy beachfront

  • East-facing toward the Mokulua Islands

  • Reef-protected turquoise waters

  • Direct lawn-to-beach access

  • Ocean + coastline views

  • Swimming and paddling from the beach

Mornings

The sun rises behind the Mokulua Islands, directly in front of the house. From the lawn, the islands sit offshore while the beach continues along the coast in both directions. The depth of the property brings the shoreline into view along with the horizon.

Lanikai is a residential neighborhood arranged around a beach. There are no beachfront hotels, no boardwalk and no commercial strip along the sand. Kaʻiwa Ridge rises behind the neighborhood. Mid-Pacific Country Club sits near its entrance. Kailua town is a short drive away, and Honolulu lies beyond the Pali.

At the property, the immediate setting is simpler: lawn, beach, reef, and the Mokulua Islands.
